Xpansiv has been holding Phase I-eligible credit auctions in partnership with the International Air Transport Association since 2024.
These events have attracted “dozens” of airlines which remain at different stages of buying, Russell Karas, Xpansiv Senior Vice President and Head of Strategic Market Solutions said.
“Some airlines decided to buy early because they wanted to start to manage their inventory and have more control around price,” he continued. “Some are waiting to see what other supplies are coming around. And I’m sure some will wait until the end. But every time we run a procurement event, we’ve seen more airlines come in and express interest.”
On-screen trading for CBL’s GEO CPI or project-specific CORSIA-eligible credits was just under 100,000 credits as of Wednesday, according to the auction announcement.
