Evolution Markets Named Best Broker Across EU, UK, and North American Carbon Markets in 2026 Environmental Finance Rankings 

NEW YORK, LONDON—Evolution Markets today announced it has been named Best Broker in five categories in the 2026 Environmental Finance Market Rankings, with recognition spanning the EU Emissions Trading System, UK Emissions Trading System, and North American (California) carbon markets. 

The annual rankings are determined by active market participants who evaluate firms based on efficiency and speed of transaction, reliability, innovation, quality of information and services, and influence on the market. Approximately 1,000 participants vote each year, making it the leading industry poll across carbon, renewable energy, and environmental commodity markets. 

This year, Evolution Markets was named Best Broker in the following categories:

  • EU Emissions Trading System: Best Broker, Options & Futures
  • EU Emissions Trading System: Best Broker, OTC/Spot
  • UK Emissions Trading System: Best Broker, OTC/Spot
  • North American Markets (California): Best Broker, Options & Futures
  • North American Markets (California): Best Broker, OTC/Spot (joint winner)

The firm was also named runner-up in two additional categories:

  • North American Markets (All — includes Canada and Mexico): Best Broker
  • Energy Attribute Certificates — North America: Best Broker (joint runner-up) 

2025 was a year of significant transition across environmental markets. EU and UK ETS programs continued to advance, while in the U.S., regulatory scrutiny and evolving program design in California, RGGI, and renewable energy markets introduced uncertainty. Through it all, Evolution Markets remained focused on execution, liquidity, and helping clients navigate change.
